v day with hubby v!

the flowers are from v and he gave it last v day! hehehe! actually this is a yearly tradition for he always gives flowers on valentine's day or my birthday! what was different this year was that instead of having it delivered to the office, he bought it and brought it to church for all the peeps at COP to see! hahaha... v bought this in dangwa where he said a lot of guys were buying assorted flowers and it looked like divisoria last feb 14. my being sale-a-holic has bitten v already! usually he would just buy flowers from a friend who has this business delivering flowers but this year instead he thought of buying the roses himself. he tried to buy from the boutiques at taft ave but found out it was freaking expensivo! like 1500+++ for just a dozen roses! so what he did was he went to dangwa and viola! flowers that are cheaper (well not really cheaper coz everyone was trying to do business on v day) than what he initially saw! funny story was pastora r and the interns happened to pass by dangwa and saw him and teased him when he bought the flowers. kaya pala when i went there during the service, someone asked me "o where's your bouquet?" hahaha na pre-empt na agad!
i love what v did ... when we have to tighten our belts (coz i am still not earning my regular salary and because of the "recession") but still he remembered buying me these roses! i don't need flowers from "signature" brands in malls! they only get those in dangwa! and besides what will you do with it after spending like thousands of pesos for something you can buy cheap naman di ba? madiskarte talaga si hubby! hahaha and yeah we ate at inasal but not just the 2 of us but with the "friendships" as well! hehehe memorable talaga for us coz something happened that night that can't be posted here.

digital perming at tony and jackey

nothing to do so guess what i tried?! hahaha digital perming at tony and jackey!
what's the difference with this type of perming ? well they use rods to have your hairs curled and they use heat for it unlike the "cold wave" version. also you won't go kinky kasi nga it's hot that's why they don't let the rods touch your scalp or else..actually it was hubby's idea to have a haircut at this salon. he says he wants to have a "koreanovela" hair! but since his hair is still short, we decided to try it out. i got tired of having straight hair (again!) so i decided to have it permed! i availed of the promo that includes digital perming, hair cut, hair manicure and hair spa! it's as if i had my hair rebonded (with the price and long hours) and yes they used l'oreal for my hair because it has been treated na before. i liked their service except for the pinay assistants who keep on hovering like vultures when the korean guy was fixing my hair. at first they thought that my hair won't curl talaga coz i've had it straightened and then curled and then straightened again but viola! after 4 hours it did curl! and to maintain it i use sunsilk curls and waves shampoo and conditioner and vo5 curl booster as well (which by the way is being used by hubby as well to tame his "alanganing" hair).
the verdict: i'm love love loving my curls! at first it was hard to maintain but after a few weeks i've gotten the hang of it... like how much mousse to apply, when to have it conditioned, etcetera... i can't wait to have it long na nga eh. i guess i'll stick to having it permed forever (well forever for me means 6 months hahaha)

the loot that took forever!

L to R : B52, Doll, Tea Rose, Peach, Perfect, Circe, Indian Pink, Pandora, Sunflower, Electra

L to R : Copper Brown, Scylla, Gaea, Gaea, Earth Angel, Hot Fudge, Thalia , Baby Pink, Frosted Flakes, Champagne

- assorted glosses - L to R: Dusty Rose, free gloss, Rose, Fire, Chaos, Femme

i ordered this loot last august, supposedly to be with my tita when she came home from canada. but for some reason when she left on sunday, the package arrived the following monday. so what my cuz did was to have it shipped na lang. supposedly, it would arrive last october, in time for my wedding anniversary and birthday and obviously it didn't. she sent it through the las pinas post office and when i tried to google the said post office gosh a lot of negative comments were given to them coz of the packages being lost or they are overcharging people claiming their packages. i just thought oh well just let my moolah go kapoot! until cuz o texted me and told me that the package arrived! yipee i was so giddy! even if i had a prior engagement to go to laguna for our get together, i asked hubby if we could drop by las pinas to get the package and we sure did! i was so happy! i told myself i m gonna sell these lippies but i changed my mind... well i gave mom the 1 hehehe other than that i'm keeping these babies all by myself. i should've bought more of the black label one! wow it glides so well and stays on your lips for quite a while. sobrang sulit for it's price! the nyx lippies i think are $2.00 each while the gold label is for like $6.00 or $7.00 you can check at cherryculture.com. nga pala, the reason i had it shipped to canada:

1. free shipping for purchases $50 and above

2. they don't ship to the philippines! aaaargggh! i also wish we have sephora here (but there's already one in singapore so i'm planning to go there!) wooohhoooh!

anyways, am enjoying all of them right now. i just wish i could find a lippie organizer like the one vanessa has.lol!

c team reunion and bonding at coffee bean rob place ermita

this was a surprising saturday for us! right after the service guess who we saw at cop? reg! our former c team soloist and my partner when we do duets! grabe talaga...and he was with his wife which also came as another surprise. so as usual chika to the max na naman kami. and then kuya/ptr jig arrived! hala! impromptu ito hehehe. so to make the "gathering" memorable we went to robinson's place ermita and had our fellowship. too bad we weren't able to take some pix with us, not until after na lang when we decided to go to coffee bean and have some "friendship" talk. ay naku ang mga love life talaga! good thing hubby and i are already past that stage, ibang level na ngayon hahaha! so as awkward as it may seem the young peeps are giving advice to the ate of the group! actually dapat girl talk lang ito, kaya lang si hubby excess baggage! hahaha tsaka walang photographer e so sinama na namin! as usual our topic is about "toot toot" at si "toot" hehehe! hay, although we miss greg and shari ok naman yung convo dito with the guy's point of view and the kikay girls so... and yeah i haven't had enough sleep here and i still need to go to my cuz' place tmw to pick up my loot and go to laguna afterwards for the bear clan get together. so medyo pagod na ang lola mo here. in fairness the make-up is still intact (take note no retouch yan ha!)

i heart mango!

i've been mia for a month, grabe! been busy with training and at last ha we officially started last feb 9 so now i can blog again! well, this post should have been done last month pa...better late than never i guess hahaha... i bought this mango wallet after our exams...you know pampa wala ng stress!

what my name means

maria carissa
" You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated.
(so true!)
You master any and all skills easily. You don't have to work hard for what you want. You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you'll knock down anyone who gets in your way! (hahaha lol!)
You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality. You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. (most people are intimidated by me)
You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. (this is so freaking accurate!)
Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start. You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily. You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind.A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable. (fits me to a tee!)
You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong. You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know. You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. (lol na lang ulit!) Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do. "
although this is just a computer generated perception of me i just can't help but notice some of the characteristics to be true... hahaha... oh well... you can try it as well if you like...

a great GOD!

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future". Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

People say that this year will be a difficult year for us because of the recession. I'd rather believe on God --- My God's report! this will be a great year for His children, those who believe and accepted Him as their Personal Lord and Savior. I just want to share a wonderful testimony. Hubby has just been promoted as Quality Assurance Lead in his company. Truly, we are serving a faithful and loving God. V and I have been serving the ministry for years now. Both of us are active leaders in the choir (executive committee) and aside from that we are also part of Passion (a singing group at COP, http://www.cathedralofpraise.com.ph). We sow our time and efforts to serve God and His people and we have seen His goodness. Now, we are yet being favored by the Lord. I want to share this to anyone and everyone... you can never OUTGIVE GOD! We give all the glory and praise back to HIM!

shoes

i wonder what's inside this box?
ta-daa!

the other day i discovered the marikina shoe expo right behind our office. so yesterday i went there and tried to see what's inside and shoes i did find or they found me hahaha! they have marikina made shoes there that are affordable especially for the guys. you know how expensive guy shoes can be. they have rusty lopez, janylin, b club, and other marikina brands. i bought this gold shoe with details at janylin. they are on sale, orig price is P1100 and i only bought it for P499. i was also trying to look for the lady who was selling sidney sheldon books but i wasn't able to see her yesterday. she was selling this big paperback version of are you afraid of the dark for P250. it still is covered with plastic and has the tag for P675 so i wanted to buy it. well maybe some other day, i'm sure i'll spend a lot of my time lurking there hahaha!

weekend habit

last weekend we stayed at p's place and watched csi (as usual!) . addicts we have become because of this miniature killer in season 7 but we were still left hanging on to our seats because after the season has ended the killer is still at large (spoiler!) . and as usual, we stayed there until noon and started watching "house" just to have another reason to continue our weekend habit.
we also had our very first young professionals assignment. the service was called "wired" and as was mentioned it was for yuppies. 8 out of 13 passion members were there. kuya m, (ate c's ehem "friend") was also there and r and p stayed with him during the service. after that we went at seaside to eat. it was ate c's treat for her barkada. we had adobong pusit, buttered shrimp, sinigang sa miso na maya-maya and tempura. yummy! too bad s, g's gf wasn't there but it was fun. we got to know kuya m more and he slowly became at ease (or so i think) with us unlike the week before with the trinoma incident (which is another story hahaha). he even asked us questions about our walk with God and it really became a fellowship in the true sense of the word. we also went to moa after to have coffee coz kuya m and ate c are coffee addicts. they treated us to coffee bean's mocha ice blended coffee which was good! kuya m also shared bible verses to us and i think he is a great guy, right ate c? :)

l to r: greg, kuya m, ate c, me, hubby, pole and roc hubby and me at coffee bean; psp addict!

missing shari and len; inlove with GOD!

everything new (well almost!)

new year, new job, new blog, new email addy, new post... everything's almost new for me! new make up... i'm lemming for it but i have new make up brushes courtesy of hubby last christmas so i think that's close enough. new clothes? yes of course! and because it's inventory time for boutiques nowadays i decided to invade them! harharhar. here's my loot from mango, bayo and kamiseta.

me bought 2 blouses from mango ( i wore the other one last week so no pix here), 1 bayo top, and 5 clothes from kamiseta ( i don't like kamiseta really i don't! lolz). and yeah i also bought sandals from ohrelle just because this guard at jollibee accidentally bruised my left feet and it's throbbing real bad! (at least i've got an excuse for hubby to buy me shoes!*snicker*).

here's the breakdown from yesterday and last week's shopping spree. the blue top is from bayo. hope you noticed the pin detail, it's detachable so you can mix and match it with other tops. ain't that cool eh? orig price:P599 , 50% off. purple racerback from mango. countries' names are written on it. orig price: P900, 50%. actually the other blouse is a white long sleeved turtle neck blouse victorian style orig price:P1499, sale price: P445! (i'll post a pic some time soon). the ohrelle sandals is also 50% off so it's like P445 as well. the kamiseta clothes: 2 cardigans (green and lavender) is 70% off so i paid P700++ for it. i bought this at gateway. off to the next, brown sleeveless polka dotted blouse P999, 50% off and brown puffed sleeves (not in pix coz i wore it yday) P799, 50% off. and lastly, white blouse with blue denim buttons P999, 50% off.
here's a secret i'd like to share to kamiseta sale lovers. i suggest that you go to gateway during sales coz they have designs that other branches don't have and they are very lenient when it comes to fitting clothes!
i'm looking forward to more blogging these coming days coz my new job (that is really my old job! what?! nevermind teehehe) is giving me the luxury of time nowadays, i hope so. and yeah, i haven't gone to the gym (old blogsite) lately coz it's in makati and i'm now working in cubao so hopefully when i already pass training i'll be able to go back again!
